Established in 2012, Pumas Futsal Club was introduced to youth football teams in Washington as a way of playing sport during the winter months. A men’s team was introduced on 2016 with the plan of creating a progression pathway for younger players.

Club Statement….

Following our recent invitation to join the FA National Futsal League and our move to our new home; The Beacon of Light we are delighted to announce that from the 2018-19 season we will officially be known as Sunderland Futsal Club.

This change has been made for several reasons; firstly, to continue to adhere to affiliation criteria whereby we must have the area we play in included in our name and also to meet the expectations and adhere to the guidelines of The FA National Futsal League. A league we have been working towards for the past 12 months.

From a club point of view we also hope it will allow us to fully connect with the whole community of Sunderland as a city and ensure we are identifiable to future players, volunteers and supporters who may wish to join our futsal family.

There is no changes to the club itself, it’s personnel, our logo or our structure and we will continue to use the ‘Pumas’ name as our brand which is very dear to all our hearts but to confirm for our national league entry we have officially now become Sunderland Futsal Club.

This is an exciting time for our club as we prepare for the step up to play at national level and our ambition is to one day compete in the Super league which is something we will work tirelessly towards over the next few seasons.

We hope all of our members of our club and their families will join us in celebrating this huge step forward as a club at our upcoming presentation evening on Friday 27th July

Thanks for your continued support.
